The Hall mobility of holes in orthorhombic sulfur has been measured by a modified Red‐field technique over the range 230 to 330 K. The average room temperature value of the three samples measured was 6.6 cm 2 /Vs, which is quite similar to previously reported values of the room temperature drift mobility. As has been reported in the case of the drift mobility, the temperature dependence of μ H appears to be steeper than the normal T −3/2 power law expected for single phonon acoustic scattering. The significance of these results is discussed with regard to band‐like transport of holes in α‐sulfur.
