The problem of non‐magnetic impurities in metals has been studied using the double‐time Green's function technique. An interaction term for impurity and metal interaction similar to that of Anderson has been defined. This gives rise to inelastic and incoherent scattering of the electrons. An expression has been developed for the transition probability and the temperature dependent part of the impurity resistivity.
