In some magnetically ordered compounds, broadened Mössbauer spectra are interpreted as arising from hyperfine field ( H n ) distributions. These distributions measured at several temperatures are used to determine both a possible distribution of transition temperatures in the sample as well as the set of curves of H n as a function of temperature. The method of calculation is applied to ZnFe 2 O 4 .
