The illustration on the front cover refers to the article by Pisarev et al. on nonlinear magneto‐optical studies of semiconductors (see page 1498 ). It reports on optical second harmonic generation (SHG) in diamagnetic, diluted magnetic, and magnetically ordered semiconductors. The magnetic semiconductor Europium Selenide (EuSe) belongs to the large class of materials with a centrosymmetric crystal lattice, where SHG is forbidden in the electric‐dipole approximation. However, when an external magnetic field is applied a SHG signal emerges, that is associated with a novel mechanism based on a spin‐induced magnetic‐dipole nonlinearity. The SHG technique discloses the subtle switching of the spin ordering between aniferromagnetic, ferrimagnetic, and ferromagnetic phases in EuSe.
