Linear thermal expansion coefficients for the cubic bixbyite phase of bulk In 2− x Fe x O 3 have been determined using high resolution X‐ray diffraction. The addition of Fe 2 O 3 to In 2 O 3 results in the formation of solid solutions in the body centered cubic phase with a decreasing lattice parameters as a function of increasing Fe content. The thermal expansion coefficients for solid solutions showed increased values in comparison to the values for pure In 2 O 3 phase.
