This issue contains selected articles presented at the International Workshop and Conference on Auxetics and Related Systems, hosted by the University of Bristol in September 2008. The guesteditors Krzysztof W. Wojciechowski (Polish Academy of Sciences), Chrystel Remillat and Fabrizio Scarpa (both University of Bristol, UK) present new and interesting developments related to auxetic composites and also document significant advances that have been made in this field in recent years.
