In this work to study the interaction between single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), PAHs of two oligomer series, the polyacene series and polyphenyl series are used. The interaction between polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) has been studied by using a fluorescence model based on the adsorption/desorption equilibrium of SWNTs and PAHs. By using this model the binding energy between SWNTs and organic dyes is also obtained. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
