Calcium phosphate formation on carbon nanotube buckypapers (CNTB) was studied in vitro. Pristine and citrate‐treated CNTB were immersed in stationary buffered, calcium phosphate supersaturated solutions. The formed precipitate was identified using FTIR spectroscopy as a mixture of both octacalcium phosphate and hydroxyapatite. Scanning electron microscopy analysis revealed that spherulitic calcium phosphate crystals formed in both samples while crystal alignment was observed in the case of citrated treated CNTB.
