In this paper a theory of acoustically driven intersubband transitions in semiconductor quantum dots is developed. Well off‐resonant acoustic excitation leads to subsequently emitted THz radiation. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
