Anharmonic coupling between phonon modes leads to scattering of phonons on the polaronic deformation around localized charges, which results in dephasing of charge states. This dephasing process is studied for an electron in a double‐dot structure and for an exciton in a quantum dot. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
