Abstract We reanalyze the phase diagram of a hard‐core boson system with diagonal and Mattis‐type off‐diagonal disorder in a general setting. We report differences with respect to previously presented results. In an extended model, we have found an additional continuous transition not present in the previously studied case. We also comment on the influence of the interplay between the diagonal and off‐diagonal disorder on the existence of the localization transition. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
