We investigate the effective spin‐orbital superexchange model for KCuF 3 including the superexchange term due to charge‐transfer excitations. We investigate the spin wave and spin‐and‐orbital wave excitations using the bosonic representation of spin and orbital operators for the antiferromagnetic ground state with the ferro‐type of orbital order of occupied e g orbitals. It is shown that antiferromagnetic order is stabilized either by the charge‐transfer superexchange or by the crystal field splitting of the e g energy levels. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
