The influence of the spin splitting on the longitudinal magnetoresistance of a quasi‐two‐dimensional electron gas in layered crystals is theoretically investigated. At acoustic‐phonon scattering, a general expression for the longitudinal magnetoresistance has been found. A negative longitudinal magnetoresistance due to the spin splitting has been revealed.
