Films of order–disorder type ferroelectrics have been considered in the mean field approximation taking into account a depolarization field. It has been shown that size effects in this system could be described on the base of a bulk system equation of state with Curie temperature dependent on the film thickness. A comparison of different type ferroelectric film properties has been performed. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
