Self‐assembled nanoparticle structures represent a very promising way of achieving nanoelectronic devices and even circuits. In this paper we analyse the electronic transport properties of nanoparticle arrays formed on the surface of ionic crystals. Results for the numerical simulations of the quantum percolation problem in the nanoparticle arrays or discontinuous metal films are given. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
