The magnetic and transport properties of La 0.5 Sr 0.5 (Fe x Co 1− x )O 3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) compounds were investigated. T C decreased slightly and the resistivity increased, even with a very small extent of Fe substitution. The Fe substitution induced additional antiferromagnetic Fe–O–Fe interactions that suppress strongly the ferromagnetism and conductivity, thus causing a separation between two phases at around 124 K for both x = 0.1 and 0.2 compositions. Spin‐glass behavior was observed for the Fe‐doped samples. The resistivity, can be described by the Mott's variable range hopping model in the low temperature region.
