The original article to which this Comment refers was published in phys. stat. sol. (b) 238, No.1, 120‐126 (2003) . A reply to this comment is published in phys. stat. sol. (b) 241, No.4, 965 (2004) . In this comment, it is pointed out that the explicit expressions of the stress and electric displacement derived by Wu et al. [phys. stat. sol. (b) 238 , 120 (2003)] are incorrect. The reason for producing the erroneous results is discussed. According to Ting's work on anisotropic elastic bimaterial [Q. J. Mech. Appl.
