The properties of hard magnetic domains in garnet bubble films were studied. The formula for the domain wall energy of circular hard magnetic domains was improved by adding an assumptive effective interaction energy term between vertical Bloch lines. This satisfactorily interpreted the behavior of hard domains subjected to a static bias magnetic field, which had remained unclear for many years, and also successfully interpreted the temperature character of the hard domains. Therefore, this assumptive effective interaction energy can act as a clue to derive exactly the interaction between vertical Bloch lines. (© 2003 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
