The experimental magnetization curve of the first synthesized S = 1 organic spin ladder compound BIP‐TENO is presented. It reveals a clear plateau at 1/4 of the saturation magnetization. We propose a mechanism of the 1/4 plateau formation based on the frustration due to third‐neighbor exchange interactions. We also compare the numerically calculated magnetization curve and susceptibility with the experimental results to estimate the exchange coupling constants.
