A description is given of neutron diffraction effects due to the deformation of lattice planes by flexural vibrations of a quartz single crystal cut in the shape of a bar. The relative increase of the diffracted neutron intensity in dependence on the exciting voltage, i.e. on the amplitude of vibrations was measured for different lattice planes of the quartz single crystal. The modulation degree of the neutron intensity as function of the exciting voltage was determined. A qualitative explanation of the results observed is given.
