The frequency shifts and damping constants of the protonic collective motion in hydrogen‐bonded ferroelectrics due to both the proton—proton and proton—lattice interactions are calculated using the method of temperature dependent Green's functions. Some parameters describing the tunnelling frequency of the proton and the above mentioned interactions are reconsidered. The final results are interpreted from the standpoint of the dynamical and kinematical interactions in the boson representation of the fictitious spin as well as of a thermodynamical quasi‐equilibrium approximation.
