By means of the micromagnetic equations of the superconductivity the deformation of a superconductor below the transition temperature is determined. It is shown that as in ferromagnets the deformation of a superconductor may be divided into spontaneous and forced suprastriction, and the formeffect. The theoretical results are compared with recent experiments.
