An attempt is made to calculate the various contributions to the atomic magnetic moment and to express them in terms of the electronic structure parameters. In a previous paper the authors consider the metal as consisting of neutral atoms of one and the same kind while in the present one two kinds of neutral atoms in a crystal are considered and a calculation is made of the configurational interaction between them, the spin polarization of hybridized unpaired conduction electrons, and the effect of this polarization on the electronic structure.
