The structure of the decay functions in paramagnetic relaxation is found to differ depending on whether they are measured in normalfluid or superfluid 4 He. Therefore the concept of a phonon bottleneck is extended to the case of different heat conductivities of the cooling baths. The various measured decay functions can be explained in this way.
