An investigation of the conductivity and viscosity of semiconducting compound CdGeP 2 in the liquid state has been made. It has been found that the transition of this compound from the solid to the liquid state coincides with the pattern “semiconductor → semiconductor”. The value for the activation energy of the conductivity of the melt completely coincides with the energy gap of vitreous CdGeP 2 . It might be explained with the similar structure of the short‐range order.
