In the stimulation spectra of KCl–Ag and NaCl–Ag crystals, X‐rayed at 80°K, additional bands have been found for the visible emission, due to the tunneling between V k ‐ and Ag°‐ centres. The temperature dependence of these bands and the kinetics of the initial growth curves of the photostimulated luminescence allows one to connect these bands with the optical release of holes from V k ‐centres.
