The Investigation of Trapping Levels in CdWO 4 , ZnWO 4 , and CaWO 4

Local trapping levels in unactivated monocrystals of CdWO 4 , ZnWO 4 , and CaWO 4 , were investigated by the method of thermoluminescence (TL), thermally stimulated conductivity (TSC), and photoelectret state (PES). Thermal activation energies for various trapping levels were found, and the order of recombination kinetics in these materials was determined. From the obtained data on temperature dependence of the stationary X‐ray luminescence the thermal activation energies for non‐radiative transitions were found. On the basis of the obtained experimental data a model is suggested, which explains the relation between thermoluminescent and luminescent properties of the investigated tungstates.
