Anharmonic Effects on Phonons in Aluminium

Using a pseudopotential model the wave number dependence of the anharmonic phonon widths and shifts as well as the dispersion curves have been calculated for aluminium. The results are compared with experiments by Stedman and Nilsson. The size and general shape of the widths and shifts agree with the experimental values.
