The Young's modulus was measured in different directions in the rolling plane of coldrolled copper sheets with different textures, and also calculated in the Hill approximation from X‐ray data. The agreement was fairly good. A deviation of about 7% with twofold symmetry with respect to the normal direction is possibly due to the form of the grains or the orientation correlation.
