A theory is developed for a polarization mechanism of absorption of electromagnetic waves by polarons localized on impurity centres with an appropriate structure. The coefficient of this absorption shows a specific frequency (ω) dependence both at low and at high ω and some basic features (at high ω) similar to those for the high‐frequency conductivity for small polarons and for the well‐known resonance impurity polaron absorption.
