The problem of interaction of channeling ions with chain nuclei forming the channel is considered. Born‐Mayer potentials for CuCu, Moliere, Firsov, and Lindhard potentials are considered as interaction potentials. The energy transferred to the chain nuclei is estimated. In some cases this energy may exceed the threshold energy of atomic displacement. The light channeling ions do not produce displacements. The problem of the influence of the channeling effect on the radiation cascade is also considered. It is shown that this influence is insignificant except for the cases when the initially displaced atoms have high energies.
