A discussion is given of the possibilities of orientation of donor‐acceptor associates in wurtzite type crystals and the polarization of absorption and emission bands due to electric dipole transitions in such associates. It is found that bands of this kind tend to be polarized more strongly if the corresponding associate contains interstitials than if two defects on lattice sites are involved.
