The magnetocrystalline energy constants K 1 , K 2 , and K 3 of spherical iron single crystals are determined by the torque method in the temperature range 20 to 800 °K. The temperature dependence of K 1 is in good agreement with recent measurements of other authors. The constants K 2 and K 3 are very small as compared to the constant K 1 . K 2 is always negative and K 3 is positive within the whole temperature range.
