Two‐Electron Correlation in Impurity Centres in Model Potential Approximation

The energy states of impurity centres are calculated including the correlation of optical electrons. It is shown that the correlation energy E cor for the state 1 S 0 of the luminescence centre in KCl(Tl) is about 3% of the energy of two optical electrons; for the state 3 P 1 E cos is negligible. Taking the two‐electron correlation into account, the transition energy 1 S 0 → 3 P 1 is calculated for KCl(Tl).
