An investigation is made of the effect of storage temperature on the transition time for the heterocharge to homocharge transition in electrets of Carnauba wax and methyl polymethacrylate. The transition time is found to decrease as the temperature is raised. The transition time is also strongly dependent on the electric field strength applied during polarization and decreases as the field strength is increased.
