Variations of Young's modulus throughout the mixed state in niobium have been measured as a function of external magnetic field. The variations then are converted to magnetization values utilizing the two‐phase model of the mixed state. Results are in satisfactory agreement with the measured magnetization curve, and thus support the applicability of the two‐phase model.
