Results of a thermal conductivity study on InSb‐GaSb solid solutions are presented for the entire solubility range of 80 to 500 °K. It is shown that the thermal conductivity is mainly due to the lattice. Up to a certain temperature three‐phonon processes are prevalent in all the solid solution samples. In alloys near the equimolar composition the lattice thermal resistance does not depend on T . This is due to the limitation of the phonon mean free path by the random structure of the alloy and by heat transfer through the quantum exchange of energy between the neighbouring atoms of the lattice.
