The antiferromagnetic compount FeF 3 is studied by the Mössbauer technique in the temperature range from 300 to 400 °K. A Néel temperature T N of (362.4 ± 0.2) °K is deduced from the data. If the reduced hyperfine field is represented by h ( T ) = D (1 − T / T N ) β , it is found that β = 0.358 ± 0.013 in the region 0.81 < T / T N < 0.99. The shapes of the peaks in the Mössbauer spectra in the vicinity of the Néel temperature are discussed.
