Luminescence spectra of spontaneous and stimulated emission are investigated for CdS‐crystals excited by electrons with energies between 15 and 150 keV at liquid nitrogen temperature. Selfabsorption is shown to affect the spectral distribution of the radiation from the excited surface. The dependence of the luminescence intensity on the beam current density is measured.
