Irradiation of AgBr:Te or AgBr:Se with green light at about 180°K produces a paramagnetic centre. It will be shown by investigation of the angular dependence of g ‐values, superhyperfine structure, and hyperfine structure that the centre has orthorhombic symmetry, consists of two equivalent impurity anions and strongly interacts with two bromine ions.
