A theoretical study is made of an ensemble of uniaxially anisotropic, completely aligned single‐domain particles, in which the particles are arranged in linear chains with positive or negative interaction. It is shown that the ensemble is in a true energetic equilibrium with small dc fields after an anhysteretic magnetization process. In this case the ensemble corresponds to an Ising‐model of equivalent spin arrangement. Hence the anhysteretic remanence curve of the ensemble in its initial part, and the anhysteretic initial susceptibility of both types of interaction are estimated.
