A method is described for determining the diffusion coefficient in dilute solid solutions by measurements of the electrical resistivity. The diffusion equation is solved numerically for the selected experimental conditions and this provides curves suitable for direct comparison with experimental data. Results obtained for the diffusion parameters of Zn in pure Al indicate the accuracy of the method.
