A theory is developed for the line‐shape of the Interband oscillatory magneto‐optical absorption coefficient. The non‐stationary character of the electron states is assumed to originate from inelastic interactions between electrons and optical (polar) phonons. It is shown that the width and shift of electron levels depends non‐monotonically on the magnitude of the magnetic field, which leads to additional oscillations of the absorption coefficient which are of the magneto‐phonon resonance type. Theoretical estimates indicate that these additional oscillations should be experimentally observable.
