The vibrational spectrum and specific heat of potassium are calculated by using Sharma and Joshi's electron gas model for monovalent metals. The calculations are based on Houston's approximation for the frequency spectrum. The calculated lattice specific‐heat and the corresponding equivalent Debye temperature are compared with experimental data and the results are discussed.
