By a certain generalisation of Sewell's model [6] a stochastic theory of high temperature small polaron transport is developed. Relaxation of local small polarons is discussed and a qualitative picture of this non‐Boltzmann type of transport is given. The transport and relaxation of such carriers can be considered as a stochastic type of hopping diffusion, but its master equation is non‐Markovian (with “memory”).
