Abstract The amplitude and half width of the inter‐band absorption peak are determined in the quantum limit, taking into account the elastic interactions of the carrier with the acoustical phonons and point impurities. A study is also made of the influence of the non‐elastic interaction of the alectrons with the optical phonons on the form of the absorption curve for a strong magnetic field.
