The Debye‐Waller exponents for aluminium, silver and sodium have been calculated from de Launay's electron gas model. A sampling technique has been used, as in an earlier paper of Mahesh and Dayal. These is agreement between theoretical and experimental values up to 600 °K in the case of aluminium and silver and up to 200 °K for sodium.
