The differential cross‐section of metallic manganese for paramagnetic scattering is obtained from the background scattering observed for the compound Mn 5 Ge 3 . The variation of the magnetic amplitude form factor of metallic managanese with scattering angle is found to be quasi‐identical with that of Mn 2+ . The radial distribution of the electrons in the 3d shell of metallic manganese is calculated from the amplitude form factor.
