A calculation is made of the amplitudes of the waves diffracted and transmitted by a foil formed by the superposition of two parallel plate‐shaped crystals. The N ‐beam case is considered, i. e. in each crystal N ‐families of lattice planes occur in the neighbourhood of the exact Bragg‐orientation for reflection. An explicit example is discussed.
