LiF crystals grown by two different methods (Bridgman/high vacuum and Kyropoulos/air) are coloured by x‐ray, deuteron, proton, and electron irradiation. The dependence of coloration spectra upon both the growth technique and the type of radiation used for colouring the crystals, is found to be negligible. Additive and electrolytic coloration experiments do not yield any selective absorption in the investigated range farn 200 to 3000 nm.
